Service Description

Learning how to train the mind from excessive thinking and moving in the direction of focused attention sounds simple. And it is. But only when you know how. Additionally, not all things that are simple are easy, and training the mind is one of those things. Working with meditation coach can look a bunch of ways, but here's how it can help: Reduce insomnia Sleeplessness is zero fun and we've all been there. You wake up with a racing mind full of all the things (usually worries) and trying to slow it down or stop seems impossible. Fortunately, it's not. I have a stream of tools that will help you relearn how to use your mind in new ways that will enable you to halt the thoughts and get back to sleep. Reduce anxiety and worrying Worrying is caused by wanting to control something that is often out of your control. That sucks, and despite not being able to steer your kids away from danger, or make your boss think more highly of you, you can learn to down-regulate your stress response. Anxiety has many forms and stems from a variety of places. It can be chronic, acute or free-floating. Understanding it is key. I'll help you track your triggers and see what's underneath. By gently lifting the covers on the root cause you may find you can deal with your anxiety in ways that don't add to it. Anger This is my specialty as I have always had a huge amount of fire. Using mindfulness techniques you can get a grip on your rage and begin to work with it, as opposed it working you. Fire can be dangerous, that's a fact, but together we can learn some back burning techniques that result in a bit more self-control without having to have a lobotomy. You'll get to keep your personality – you'll still get pissed off from time to time – but you'll be in control of it, not the other way around. Meditation coaching is also helpful if you have a lapsed practice and want to cultivate a formal practice again. Or, if you're new to meditation and want to discover which styles and techniques are available, and which ones will work best for you. Send me an email if you have a particular question.
